It's Worth It

“Is love worth the hurt and pain and bearing that heavy cross, or is it better to never love at all to save yourself from that hurt?”
That was what Father Tom asked us in his homily a few nights ago. I love readings and homilies like this, when they just draw me in because I can fully relate, or something they say stumps or intrigues me. I remember when I used to ask myself that question all the time; indeed, I have done so recently, too. I don’t like to feel vulnerable; I never did. And I never was sure if it would be worth it on some levels of my life. But if I’ve gathered anything from my observations and feelings lately, these past few weeks, it would be that on any and all levels, it’s definitely worth it. We’ll lose what and who we love sometimes, but it’s better to have known the joy that came with their company than to have never experienced that bond at all. That’s something I refused to believe just yesterday, this morning, even. I almost feel like a hippie, embracing this idea that you should love as many people as you can. But I know that it’s true and I want to follow it.

I Admire You

...Just in general.
I love the fact that I can easily have a pleasant conversation with you. Not only that, but the feeling seems mutual; surprisingly, neither person feels awkward. It's incredibly natural. You're more interesting than most people think, and if they got the chance to know you I know they would see that, too. You've got so much character (or values? I don't really know what I'm trying to say here, lol) that I would have never guessed that you did (well, maybe I would have). For some reason, though, that really struck me as another addition to your wonderful attributes, and I'm glad that you really are that way. You've done things for me that no one else has ever attempted before, and so you are especially special (sorry that sounded so corny, haha) to me. I'm truly happy that I know you.

"The evening had changed something for her. Life held a different meaning, a deeper purpose. On the surface it would go on just the same; but the deeps had been stirred".

5 Random Jobs I Would Honestly Enjoy Doing Just For The Fun Of It :)

1. Bartender
Completely unlike me, right? But a few years ago when Band hosted Casino Night, my job was to help make “mocktails”, and that was so much fun!

2. Voice Actor
I love voice actors! To me, they’re even funnier and exciting than real actors. If I could just do the voice of one thing/person one time, one dream of mine would be fulfilled.

3. Super Hero
Not entirely possible, but watching Sailor Moon when I was little really made me want to be a Sailor Scout. I guess that I can settle for saving the world by creating more smiles every now and then too, right?

4. Judge/ Supreme Court Justice
There’s just something about powdered wigs and gavels that sounds like a blast. If you get past all the craziness of the courtroom, I think that it could honestly be a fun job.

5. Florist
Who wouldn’t want to be surrounded by flowers all day? Think how happy someone would be if they worked in a flower shop!
